Great component, however there is a wish list. Allow me to share what I think would make this even better:

1. The ability for signees to have a field for where they are from, doesn't have to be full address, just a field for people to type Miami, FL or London, England or something like that. And the ability to see this as a field in the front end, something like their name where it is now, and then in parentheses next to the name in italic where they are from, or even better right beneath their name.

2. Ability to edit the date posted for messages. Right now I am having to copy paste our old guestbook entries but you can't edit the date to change the order. And there is no function to change the order like you can with modules and such.

3. Having entries linked in the backend to more easily select items to edit, rather than having to check the box and then click on edit. (Nevermind on this one, the date is linked, but if the posts are made in the backend nothing is linked, maybe link the content too)

4. Some kind of line around the post to make it easier to distinguish between entries on the front end. Like a line between posts or something like that.

5. Being able to control where a page break happens. When does it happen? I'm up to 11 posts and still no page break.

I think thats it for now. Thanks for the great guestbook.

First two points have been added to the roadmap.

3) Actually, the date should be clickable (it is in the demo..)

4) There actually is a separtion, check the demo: (http://demo.joomla-addons.org/index.php?option=com_easygb&Itemid=30)

5) Pagebreak happens based on the list length you've defined in your Joomla configuration.

Thanks for adding those to the roadmap.

As for number 3, I just noticed that. When you enter posts through the backend though no date is added to the post, so there is actually nothing linked. That's why I edited to suggest to link the content as well.

As for the separation, it must have something to do with the template on our site because in our guestbook it's one solid color. Is there something I'm missing? You can see it here http://www.secretsunsealed.org/index.php?option=com_easygb&Itemid=71&limit=10&limitstart=10

As for the pagebreaks, thanks for pointing that out, that fixed the problem. Maybe that can be added to the FAQ for not so knowledgeable users of Joomla like me.

Thanks!

I'm using sectiontableentry1 and sectiontableentry2 for css classes, they are part of the default joomla template. Make sure you've defined those in the template you're using as well..

I see the use of the J! Global Configuration list lenght more of a backend administration thing than as a control for the frontend of a component.

Could you change your thoughts on that, that it is not just being a J! Global Configuration thing?

Duco

p.s. Akobook uses "Entries per Page:" as a controlable thing in the backend of the component ....
