Hiya Websmurf, it's me again  Grin

I thought I better be a tidy kiwi and post this here instead of Joomla forums.

I've had a chance to play with this for a few days and it is going to be just perfect for a small Joomla site I am currently building. I have only three small feature requests that I think would make this more visually attractive and they are:

1. Could we please have an option for the main category page to define our own fixed title in the component header? eg: "The Blue Smurf Photo Gallery"

2. Could we please have an option to display the gallery lists in more than one column? eg: I have nine galleries and would like to display them 3 x 3 (with no description entered) so they all fit neatly on one page without needing to scroll (I hate to force my viewers to scroll pages)

3. Could we please have an option to define a specific thumbnail for each gallery? As far as I can tell it by default picks up the first thumbnail in the gallery to use on the category page and I would like to control this manually with a thumbnail of my own choosing (instead of hoping that site user doesn't add a very ugly photo which defaults to the gallery thumbnail LOL)

Very nice job with this component. I love streamlined lightweight CMS addons that don't bog the whole site down, so I wouldn't want to add to many more features that make it heavier - just these few that would aide me with my design layout.

Thanks a bunch for your wonderful contributions to the Joomla community!

Yeah I use the Categories to show works by diferent photographers. So I'd love to have the photographers name as the title, not the title of the actual photo itself. It would be great if we could control this. Also for the main page title in the the html header.

1) you're talking about the page where no category is selected yet right? (in that case, added to my todo list)
2) you should be able to do this by changing the template file: /components/com_easygallery/template/subcats.tpl
3) added it to my todo list

Greetings O' Smurfy One (my cat is called BedSmurf, so maybe you two are related LOL)

A workaround for my Request #1 has been discussed in this thread here:

http://www.joomla-addons.org/option,com_smf/Itemid,7/topic,277.0.html

But I would like to see this integrated into the next release as the default behaviour.

I personally think it looks amateurish to have the page titles prefixed with "View category", "View picture" etc etc and that those page title should only be "{CAT_NAME}" and "{IMAGE_NAME}".

I also think that the main page title (which you currently have as "View Category" needs to be referenced to the "mainmenu" so that whatever title we gave our gallery in there automatically becomes the page title for the main page.

Hope my explanation makes better sense this time, and thanks for considering my ideas.

Cheers,
Zana

Yeah I agree the "View category" and "View picture", where the first things I cut from the language file.
